Molly is our westy, or rather we are molly's humans. She's seven years old and has been swimming in the pool regularly for years. She's way too chicken to do a full blown belly flop into the pool but fortunately it has a graded walk-in area which she sussed out when she was a pup. She started walking in until the water came up to her neck. Then she got braver & braver now she walks in & does a couple of laps. She does this whenever it's really hot or whenever she's just been for a professional grooming. Or whenever the ducks land in the pool which she finds quite tempting. We got a $20 blow up crocodile from the National Geographic shop which seems to have sorted the ducks out. Molly knows the layout of the pool perfectly & has no problems walking in and out when it's dark, otherwise, I'd close the molly-gap in the pool fencing.
